Hengrove Play Park links into the leisure park already on the site of the old Whitchurch airfield. The playground is one of the most exciting built in England. It features the innovative play dome, a 12 metre high dome with enclosed pathways and equipment suspended from the frame. There is a skateboard/BMX zone, an area for sand and water play for younger children, plus other play equipment. Within the area there is plenty of open space plus seating, a cafe and toilets. The play park is staffed during the day and closed at night, and protected by a 2 metre high fencing and CCTV.
