The Real Nappy Project was originally set up as a waste minimisation initiative. The organisation works with parents, health professionals and community projects of all kinds to raise awareness of the cost and environmental savings that parents can make by using the new modern types of washable nappies. The new styles have poppers, Velcro and wash and dry really easily. It also runs a lending service, where parents can try out 'real nappies', without committing themselves financially.
